Homemaker's Challenge - 31 Days To Clean - Day 1

Homemakers Challenge - 31 Days to Clean

Day 1 - Why Clean?

My Thoughts:  Oh no, what have I gotten myself into?!  First question, first day and it is this!  I don't like mission statements. I do not want to write one!!!

But it is a challenge so I did it anyway and actually enjoyed it!!  I used Inspired To Action's free ebook to help me out and it was wonderful the way she broke it down - made it so easy.  I am very visual and need help often just getting started!

My list of roles - listed in priority to me.

  1. Child of God
  2. Wife
  3. Mother
  4. Homemaker
  5. Homeschool Teacher
  6. Christian
  7. Sunday School Teacher
  8. Bible Study leader
  9. Tutor
  10. Chauffeur :)
I took the top 5 as my core roles and made my mission statement from them.  And here it is....my mission statement.......drum roll please!

My purpose in this life that God has given me is to glorify Him and honor Him in all that I do.  I want to be a helpmeet to my husband by building him up and encouraging him daily.  I want him to know that he is a treasure to me - a gift that my God gave to me.  I want to train my children in the ways of God so that they will know Him at a much younger age than I did.  I want to train them in all areas of their life just as God has commanded me to do. And never forget that He has also given them as gifts to me. And finally, I want my home to be a haven for our family to retreat to when this world has taken so much out of us.

Some bible verses to help me with my mission statement.  There are so many more but these are a beginning!  God's word is so full of life!!

Isaiah 43:7
“Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” (KJV)
Psalm 86:5
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. (KJV)
Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” (NIV)
1 Corinthians 10:31
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (ESV)
Genesis 2:18"The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (NIV)
Prov. 31:11-12
"The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life." (NLT)
Proverbs 22:26
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (NIV)
Psalm 119:18"Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions." (NLT)
1 Timothy 4:12"Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."(NLT)
Ephesians 1:16-19
I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.  I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power." (NLT)

  2. I am starting to work on my "mission" statement. I'm thinking I'm going to keep it very simple and just make a list of why I want to keep my house clean. It will be a good reminder!
