Tenacious Thursday - Weeks 11, 12, & 13

It's hot, it's summer, I'm lazy, I'm slacking...and on and on.

My steps are falling behind because I am not intentionally focusing on them and pushing myself.  I am moving our school room into a new area and that is my current focus along with selling last year's curriculum and making sure I have all of this year's curriculum.  It is what it is but I don't like what I'm seeing in my steps and my weight is staying the exact same which is a good thing at this point because it's not going up!

Week 11 - not even half of my goal

Week 12 - pattern continues

Week 13 - forgot to even put my fitbit on half the time!  If it wasn't for Monday, this week would have been a total wash.

It's ironic that these weeks are following one of my best weeks yet.

Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in! Let's keep each other accountable!

Tenacious Thursday - Weeks 8 & 9

Week 9 was vacation week and let me just say that maybe I need a vacation every week!  I think I had my highest week of steps yet and we spent many hours that week on a plane!

Fitbit steps - This was packing and prep week.  As I stated in the last update, we were also painting our son's apartment. I've noticed a pattern of my steps being low when life gets busy!  The steps do not accurately show how busy I at least think I was.

Where I finished on my friends' list for Week 8.  I moved down the list again!

Here is vacation week!  Woohoo finally met my goal plus some!

And another goal crushed - top 5 among my friends for Week 9 - best yet!

Other goals:
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily steps at least 4 times per week
  • water intake - doing better
  • weigh in - I stayed the same at 216 - Total loss/gain = -2
Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in! Let's keep each other accountable!

Tenacious Thursday #7

Checking In :)  Down another pound this week!

Fitbit steps - Got my 4 times in at least.

This week truly doesn't show what I've done! We've been painting my son's apartment and I'm sore everywhere - it just doesn't register many steps evidently!

Ah man, moved down a number among my friends - you guys need to just sit down once in a while, lol!!  Just kidding - keep me accountable!  I really increased my overall steps so I am happy with that too.

Other goals:
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily steps at least 4 times per week
  • water intake - doing better
  • weigh in - 216 - Total loss/gain = -2
Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in! Let's keep each other accountable!

Fitbit steps - How I finished the week last week.

I finished 12th among my friends list last week - hoping to make it into the top 10 this week!

Here is this week, Sunday - Thursday. Today was a bust but hopefully I can finish strong!

Other goals:
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily steps at least 4 times per week
  • water intake - doing better
  • weigh in - 217 - down 1 pound

Tenacious Thursday - #4 & 5

I never got around to checking in last week.  Did you miss me?  Well, I have kind of lost my motivation and every area was showing it.  Let's see how I did.

Fitbit steps - Week 4 (not too bad 4 out of 7)  I finally changed that step goal to 49,000 for the week too so that should be correct next week.

Here is this week, Sunday - Thursday. As you can see, motivation declining and so did my steps.  I was so close and didn't even care!  Today, I tried to refocus.  Hoping to carry that determination into the weekend as well.

Other goals:
  • no tracking - I know this seems like such an odd goal but I want to do this without writing everything down.
  • making sure to eat at least 6-8 servings of fruits/veggies a day - I don't know - I'm still trying but not doing as well with this goal either.
  • starting my day with an egg, Canadian bacon, bacon,  or sausage and fruit - nope
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily (see above)
  • starting c25k - I've stopped again.  :(  I just felt the need to make walking a regular habit before adding in something else.
  • water intake - doing better
  • I also stayed off the scale until June 1st where I did step back on only to see no change.  :(   Weight:  218 - Oh, how I loathe that number!!  I worked so hard to get under 200 and now it's all back. I'm not going to let that defeat me though. Pressing on!
Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in! Let's keep each other accountable!

Tenacious Thursday #3

Let's start by looking at my Fitbit weeks.

Here is last week through Sunday.  Not too bad really but...

Here is this week, Sunday - Thursday.  But let me just say that we cleaned out 3 closets this week.  Evidently that didn't take many steps although it had me exhausted!

Other goals:
  • no tracking - hey it's getting easier :)
  • making sure to eat at least 6-8 servings of fruits/veggies a day - Okay this is an oxymoron because I can't keep up with this since I'm not tracking!!
  • starting my day with an egg, Canadian bacon, bacon,  or sausage and fruit ( Again, stinking at this and falling back into old habits plus we are out of eggs and breakfast meat!)
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily (see above)
  • starting c25k - Didn't do any this week :(
  • no weighing until June 1st (I still want to step on the scale so badly!!)
  • water intake - too low
Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in! Let's keep each other accountable!

Tenacious Thursday #2

It is weekly update time!  Here are the steps I'm taking and how I'm doing so far.
  • no tracking - oh so easy but you know I find that I am still tracking in my head sometimes!
  • making sure to eat at least 6-8 servings of fruits/veggies a day - I started the week strong but have slacked as we have become busier towards the weekend.
  • starting my day with an egg, Canadian bacon, bacon,  or sausage and fruit ( Yikes, I did so well until Monday this week and haven't done any day since!)
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily (done except for today)
  • starting c25k (Working on week 1 day 2 this week and plugging along)
  • no weighing until June 1st (another hard thing for me since I was weighing so frequently)
Overall, I am happy with my progress. I have slacked as we head into a busy time with my oldest graduating but I'm okay with that.  That is life and I need to find my way around even when life gets crazy!

Thanks for those of you joining in with me and keeping me accountable!  How was your week?  What were your accomplishments?  Let me know!  It's never too late to join in!  Let's keep each other accountable!

For next week, I also need to be sure to get my water in.

Tenacious Thursday #1

I'm going to start a new series here.  Here's the deal:  I need y'all!!!  Tenacious Thursday is going to be all about accountability and never giving up.  I falter, I fail, I flounder, I am up and down but I am determined.

You're probably wondering what on earth I am talking about, right?  Well, it's my weight and health.  I am so tired of being overweight and unhealthy.  When I hit onederland (weighing in the 100's) last year, I was so excited because that was so hard! Granted, I was only 2 pounds under 200 but still it was great progress.  Then, I stopped tracking, stopped exercising, and once again began mindless eating and once again gained back all 20 pounds that I lost.

So, let me tell you my strategy that I am totally turning 360 degrees on this time.  I do not want to track what I eat forever.  I'm tired of tracking what I eat.  I know, I know, everyone says you are so much more successful when you track but eventually you stop and then what? For me, that "what" is always start gaining.  I think tracking kind makes you obsessive about food as well.

So, here's what I am doing - slow and steady!

  • no tracking
  • making sure to eat at least 6-8 servings of fruits/veggies a day
  • starting my day with an egg, Canadian bacon, bacon,  or sausage and fruit ( I have skipped breakfast in the past or just eaten a granola bar.)
  • try hard to hit my step goal of 7,000 daily (just upped that from 5,000)
  • starting c25k (again going slow and repeating days until I feel I'm ready to move to the next day comfortably
  • no weighing until June 1st
Here's my picture from earlier this week where I completed my 2nd attempt of Day 1 of c25k slipping and sliding in the mud and all.  :)

Now, here is where you come in.  If I don't check in every Thursday, please please ask me where I am and how I'm doing?  Not too hard, right?  If you are willing to help me, would you please start by either commenting below or emailing me.  Thank you in advance!
