3 in 30: February, Week 3

3in30 Challenge

February 2012 - Week 3 update

January was the go for the goal month and it seems February has been the unmotivated month for me!

My 3 goals for February...

1.  Homemaker – I have 2 goals here because one will not take that long.
  • I want to consistently set my monthly goals and more importantly evaluate them at the end of the month to see if I had any progress. done
  • I want to consistently use my Motivate Moms Planner this year too.  done
2.  Personal – Exercise 3x a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  not done at all...gaining wait - not good!

3.  Wife/Marriage – send a Good Morning text M-F to my sweetheart.  Pretty much just saying “I love you!”  didn't do very well with this one this week either.

3in30 Challenge

February 2012 - Week 2 update

My 3 goals for February...

1.  Homemaker – I have 2 goals here because one will not take that long.
  • I want to consistently set my monthly goals and more importantly evaluate them at the end of the month to see if I had any progress. Yikes - I thought this would be the easy one and I still haven't sit down to do it yet.  I never evaluated January's or set February's except for the 3 goals but hey that's a start!
  • I want to consistently use my Motivate Moms Planner this year too.  So far, we have done this every day consistently.  It really isn't hard at all and I love how little time it really takes.  I may time myself next week to see how quickly it can be done.
2.  Personal – Exercise 3x a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  I walked 3x this week but honestly it wasn't much.  I want to do more but I don't want to do more.  :)  Just that little bit of focus on this and I slacked on my tracking goal...ugh.

3.  Wife/Marriage – send a Good Morning text M-F to my sweetheart.  Pretty much just saying “I love you!”  The easiest goal of all because of the best husband ever!!

February 2012 - Week 1 Goals

My 3 goals for February...

1.  Homemaker – I have 2 goals here because one will not take that long.
  • I want to consistently set my monthly goals and more importantly evaluate them at the end of the month to see if I had any progress.
  • I want to consistently use my Motivate Moms Planner this year too.  I really like the app version so far.  The kids enjoy checking off the list too – a win – win.  We missed some days in January though so I want to make this a focus for February.
2.  Personal Exercise 3x a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  This is going to be a tough one.  I do not want to exercise.  I do not want to sweat.  I do not want to fit this into my schedule.  Sometimes, you need to do things you do not want to do.  I’m trying to teach my children that – I need to learn it myself!

3.  Wife/Marriage – send a Good Morning text M-F to my sweetheart.  Pretty much just saying “I love you!”

  1. Homemaker - make goals for the year and divide them up for each month to work on - try to incorporate a specific plan of attack for each one.  done

  3.  Spiritual - pray daily for my spouse using 31 Days To Pray For Your Spouse - done! Still loving the ease of adding this to my day
I think I'm ready for new goals.  I did well with these.  February - here I come!

hmmm...I thought my week was really off because I overslept several days and didn't get in a single bit of exercise but all 3 of my monthly goals are going great!  So, this has been a great encouragement to myself today.  It is funny how hard I can be on myself sometimes!!  Baby steps...baby steps.

January 2012 - Week 2 Update

My 3 goals for January...

  1. Homemaker - make goals for the year and divide them up for each month to work on - try to incorporate a specific plan of attack for each one.  I really finished this week one but I'm actually marking things off the list like "clean out the junk drawer".  :)
  2. Personal - drink water - at least 1 pitcher a day. To help with this goal, I am making a pitcher of lemon water every morning and trying to finish it by mid afternoon. I am impressing myself with this one!  I didn't realize that I was so addicted to soda!
  3.  Spiritual - pray daily for my spouse using 31 Days To Pray For Your Spouse - done! Still loving the ease of adding this to my day.  We have also started making a nightly commitment of praying together as a couple.  Love our time together!

Overall, a great beginning!

My 3 goals for January...

  1. Homemaker - make goals for the year and divide them up for each month to work on - try to incorporate a specific plan of attack for each one.  done!
  2. Personal - drink water - at least 1 pitcher a day. To help with this goal, I am making a pitcher of lemon water every morning and trying to finish it by mid afternoon.  I have done well with this so far - now to just keep up the momentum!
  3.  Spiritual - pray daily for my spouse using 31 Days To Pray For Your Spouse - done and decided I need to pass this book to my husband.  I need the prayer more than he does, lol.  Loving the ease of adding this to my day.  Such a simple but powerful thing!

HMJ - Goodbye 2011

The Homeschool Mother's Journal
In my life and homeschool this week…

We have been on a break for a few weeks with the exception of a few fun items including learning Spanish. Mainly, this week I have spent planning for a successful start back next week.

One of the resources I use as I plan is The Weekly Homeschool Planner which is on sale for 1 more day only for only $12 (regular $20). I try to plan out a semester at a time so I'm working on our second semester this week.

I have also spent some time evaluating 2011 goals and planning for 2012 goals. At the end of the year, I joined up with 3 in 30 and plan to continue making 3 goals per month into the new year.

I also did a little purging this week. Our newly straightened game shelves. This was after we purged 10 games and 5 puzzles!! We LOVE games!

My favorite thing this week was…

Christmas - no doubt!

one of our favorite Christmas traditions

All Aboard!

The Polar Express!

3 in 30: December, Week 4

3in30 Challenge

My 3 goals for December.......

I skipped week 3 last week - I might as well have skipped this one too but I will update to say that I'm just taking December off.  After not completing a single goal for 3 weeks, I decided it was time to allow some grace.  :)  So, see you in January!

  1. drink at least 64 ounces of water daily!  not
  2. prepare for upcoming 12 weeks of homeschool including tutoring needs for Classical Conversations. no
  3. Here's the one leftover from Nov - add Beth Moore Daniel study to personal morning devotions.  Our church is meeting every other week to go through this study and I tend to put my homework off until this last week because it is really designed as a weekly study but I could get it done easier by breaking it up each day for the whole 2 weeks.  again - nothing
Merry Christmas!!

My 3 goals for December.......

  1. drink at least 64 ounces of water daily!  wow - I started so well with this one and then completely fell off the past few days!  I need a new strategy.  HELP!
  2. prepare for upcoming 12 weeks of homeschool including tutoring needs for Classical Conversations. have not done a thing!!
Should I even set goals for December?  Just surviving our schedule is tough enough?

December - the last month of 2011.  That is so unreal!!!  I'm not waiting until the New Year to begin new health goals.  I'm going to add them in to December!  I also have a November goal that I'm carrying over because I didn't make any progress at all in that area.

My 3 goals for December.......

  1. drink at least 64 ounces of water daily!  To help with this goal, I am making a pitcher of lemon water every morning and trying to finish it by mid afternoon.
  2. prepare for upcoming 12 weeks of homeschool including tutoring needs for Classical Conversations.

3 in 30 - November, Week 4

3in30 Challenge

It was a wonderful week indeed ending on the note of spending a wonderful time with family and friends.  Any shoppers today?  I used to and still may go now since everyone is probably back home and in bed.  :)

My 3 goals for November.......

  1. Get up at 7:00 except Wednesday which is a mandatory sleep in day.  :)  Done with no oversleepings!
  2. Share daily Bible verse with my Maximize Your Mornings (MYM) group.  I decided to sign up to be an accountability captain for the MYM challenge this time and I really wanted to be an encouragement to them.  There is no better encouragement to me than the Word of God!!  done!
  3. add Beth Moore Daniel study to personal morning devotions.  Our church is meeting every other week to go through this study and I tend to put my homework off until this last week because it is really designed as a weekly study but I could get it done easier by breaking it up each day for the whole 2 weeks.  I'm still not doing this one consistently and I know I'm missing out.  I would appreciate your prayers!
Happy Black Friday!

3 in 30: November, Week 3

3in30 Challenge

I can tell the holiday season is drawing near.  For me, that means keeping up with normal routine seems harder.  I still had a pretty good week though.

My 3 goals for November.......

  1. Get up at 7:00 except Wednesday which is a mandatory sleep in day.  :)  I overslept 1 day.  My son has not fell well this week and I have been a little under a weather too so we've done well to get out of bed at all!
I will do this!!  We just had our meeting last night so on Monday I will add this in!
That was fun....now to off to see what other's goals are and how they did!  You can join in the fun too!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm joining up with 3 in 30!  I really have already been doing this and have been working on 3 goals this month already so I decided to go ahead and share them instead of waiting for December!  I am an in need of accountability gal so this is definitely for me!

  3. add Beth Moore Daniel study to personal morning devotions.  Our church is meeting every other week to go through this study and I tend to put my homework off until this last week because it is really designed as a weekly study but I could get it done easier by breaking it up each day for the whole 2 weeks.  Okay, I have not rocked this one!  I haven't even begun yet and the meeting is next Thursday.  I still have time right?  :)
That was fun....now to off to see what other's goals are and how they did!  You can join in the fun too!
